National Security lied; there are vidoes and images proving that the soldier killer is their employee – Analyst

May 7, 2024
Saani-Adib

Security and foreign policy analyst Adib Saani has revealed that the National Security’s denial of Benlord Ababio, a suspect in the killing of a military officer at Millennium City, a suburb of Kasoa in the Central Region, as one of its staff is unfortunate.

He said the way the National Security Agency was quick to deny the suspect was strange and could point to something amiss.

The Ministry of National Security last week denied one Benlord Ababio, a suspect in the killing of a military officer at Millennium City, a suburb of Kasoa in the Central Region, as one of its staff.

Mr. Ababio, who is alleged to be a land guard at Millennium City, shot into a vehicle being occupied by three military men, killing one in the process.

He allegedly shot LCpl Michael Danso in front of the Millennium City police station after accompanying his colleague with one other over disputed land at Kasoa.

The statement from the Ministry of National Security read, “The Ministry of National Security has taken note of a news item in circulation on social media that alleges that a supposed staff member of the Ministry of National Security, by name Benlord Ababio, in an incident that occurred on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Millennium City, Kasoa, shot and killed a soldier.

“The Ministry wishes to put on record that the suspect, Benlord Ababio, who is currently in police custody, is not a staff member of the Ministry of National Security,” portions of the statement said.

But reacting to this, Adib Saani said there are videos and photos of the suspect undergoing training when he was selected to be part of national security.

Speaking to Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he said he spoke to another friend who is also a security analyst, who told him (Saani) that he had in his possession videos and photos of the suspect undergoing training.

The issue he mentioned has become public knowledge, hence the reason for him to talk about it.

“In fact, I discussed this with another friend of mine who is also a security analyst, and he disclosed to me that he had in his possession videos and photos of the training of the suspect, which proves that he is a national security official. The way the National Security released a statement denying that the suspect was a staff member is strange and shows that there is something they’re trying to hide.”

Commenting on the death of the soldier, he stated that “when you look at the suspect’s brazen and audacious nature, it shows that he knows what he was doing. The fact that he had the audacity or was audacious in firing the shots—not a single shot for us to say maybe it was fired in error—but he fired multiple shots at his victims, killing one in the process, shows that he had planned to kill someone. He is such a powerful person. We need to therefore investigate this matter to determine if indeed he is a national security staffer.”.

Adib Saani lamented that he had warned of the existence of vigilantism and how they could easily enter our security agencies.

According to him, he had warned these individuals would infiltrate our security system, and that has come to pass with several of them in uniforms, wielding ID cards, and parading themselves about as national security officers.

He warned that the way we are playing ‘chaskely’ with our security in Ghana would be a threat to our democracy.
