Organised Labour has put off its detrokenacrion, which was declared on Friday, July 20, 2024.
The strike was a protest against the selling of 60% of Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) shares in four hotels.
According to leadership, the strike was called off after SSNIT announced its intention to cancel the planned sale of its interest in the hotels to Rock City Hotel, owned by Bryan Acheampong.
Dr Yaw Baah, Secretary General of the Trades Union Congress, announced at an emergency meeting in Accra on Monday that the strike had been called off and that all workers should return to work on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
He told journalists that they had also given SSNIT a one-month ultimatum to engage with them to address all outstanding issues related to the management of pensions.
