Deputy National Organiser of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Mark Ewusi Arkoh, has refuted claims that the formation of the People’s National Party (PNP) has collapsed the party.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he said those who left the PNC to form the PNP did so due to greed, selfishness, and disregard for internal party rules.
Under no circumstances will the formation of the PNP undermine the rights of the PNC and its fortunes.
“The PNP was formed by some disgruntled, frustrated, and greedy members of the PNC who left the party. It was because of greed and frustration, and that is my position. It was because of greed they left.”
He asserted that their breakaway will have no impact on the PNC.
He said the total number of members of the PNP is not more than 14 people.
“The PNP membership is not even up to fourteen. How many members do they have? Their spokespersons are not even up to two people. There is only one person speaking for them. And that one single person is someone who disregards party regulations. That person is not someone who obeys the party and is not prepared to subject herself to rules. That person keeps throwing jabs, and that person is bitter. The PNC has the men and women, and we are prepared for the upcoming general elections.”
He posited that the PNP may not be able to contest the general elections.
He also alleged that the PNC has gathered that the EC has not gone through the appropriate regulations before granting the PNP’s license to operate as a political party.
