Chairman of Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, says the committee has gathered sufficient evidence of looted state assets by appointees of the previous administration.
The Member of Parliament for North Tongu indicated that the evidence they have gathered will soon be presented to President John Dramani Mahama for further action.
Speaking to journalists in the Eastern Region, the lawmaker said the team has done a good job and was optimistic the evidence they gathered will go a long way in assisting in recovering the looted assets.
“We will not disclose the nature of our achievements until we have presented our report to His Excellency the President. When we present our report, at that presentation, the Ghanaian people will see the tremendous work that has gone on and the extent of the loot and how all of us collectively have worked successfully to make sure that the evidence is put together and is coordinated to make sure that our attorney general and our institutions help us to recover these loots.”
President John Dramani Mahama a few weeks ago appointed Ablakwa, alongside Nathan Kofi Boakye, Martin Kpebu, Raymond Archer, and Daniel Domelevo, to investigate and compile evidence of state capture and asset misappropriation.
In a related development, special aide to President John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawa Mograri, has disclosed that the work of the ORAL would be over immediately the attorney general and minister of justice is sworn into office.
