An accident on the Bolgatanga-Walewale highway has claimed the lives of eight people.
Several others have also been left with injuries.
The gory accident took place on Friday, 28th February 2025, in the farming community of Karimenga.
Information available shows that the accident occurred when a bus travelling from Kumasi to Bolgatanga collided with a container truck parked along the roadside.
The eight individuals reportedly died on the spot from the accident.
With support from local residents, officers from the Ghana National Fire Service rushed to the scene to rescue the injured.
The injured individuals were transported to the Upper East Regional Hospital in Bolgatanga for treatment.
Five passengers were trapped inside the wreckage and had to be pulled out by rescuers.
During the rescue exercise, three unidentified legs were found at the scene.
