Joseph Kwame Kumah, a member of Parliament for Kintampo North, has criticised the minority in Parliament for urging President John Dramani Mahama to stop lamenting and address the country’s challenges.
The lawmaker indicated that by asking President Mahama to address the economic challenges, it means they have admitted that the previous Nana Addo-led administration left the economy in a dire situation.
He was responding to the comments made by the Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin and some other members of the NPP after President John Dramani Mahama delivered his State of the Nation Address (SONA).
He said, ”If the minority in Parliament has asked President John Dramani Mahama to fix the challenges confronting Ghana, then it shows they have admitted that they mismanaged the economy. They have admitted that they left behind serious problems, and President Mahama will fix them. His SONA was in the right direction. He revealed to Ghanaians the challenges confronting us. They left behind $721 billion in debt”.
”We had more E-Blocks and interchanges when President Mahama left office, and our debt was less than $400 million. “Mahama built more roads and invested in a variety of other projects, so the NPP cannot compare its failed record to that of President John Dramani,” he said on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM.
