Founder and Executive Director of Patriot Ghana, a group affiliated with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwesi Korang has taken former President Akufo-Addo to the cleaners, describing him as vindictive, autocratic, and a man who refused to forgive others and held their sins against them.
Mr. Korang said he doesn’t know if Akufo-Addo bewitched the party because those with the authority to call him to order when he messed up the party while in office stood by like cowards.
Speaking to host Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he posited that Akufo-Addo was an autocratic leader; he did not believe in democracy. He hated those who disagreed with his views.
He was very vindictive. If you dare wrong him, it will be extremely difficult for him to forgive you. He lacks the ability to forgive others who wronged him.
”I don’t know whether he bewitched the party or the kind of power he blew on the party because a lot of those who had the power to speak against the wrongs he did turned into women and became cowards. We had a Council of Elders led by Hackman Owusu Agyemang, but all of them became like women. They were cowards. We need to be candid and blunt with the truth; otherwise, the party will collapse. The UP tradition will no longer exist if we refuse to talk. To those who are worried that we are making these remarks, they should speak to all those evil doers in the party to stop destroying our party; otherwise, we will not stop calling them out. Some of us had sacrificed our blood for the party, and so we will not allow anybody to destroy it.’’
“If you love the NPP and see it being destroyed, you will be concerned and will do everything you can to protect it.” Some of us have served the party since 1992, and those who do not love the party are the ones who constantly attack those who support the party and call out the evil ones.
Furthermore, he was livid that the Ashanti regional branch of the party went ahead of the national leadership to conduct a fact-finding exercise to determine why the party lost, despite the fact that the national party’s investigation was incomplete.
