Rainbowradioonline.com gathered that the accident occurred at 5:30 pm on Monday evening when some cattle traders at Yeji were returning home from business in Ejura.

Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene, but unfortunately, eight lives were lost. Several others sustained varied degrees of injuries, with one currently admitted to the Atebubui Government Hospital.

One other person is admitted to the Yeji Mathias Catholic Hospital, while another has been transferred to the Komfo Anokhi Hospital. Another was treated and discharged.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but preliminary reports suggest excessive speed contributed to the tragedy. Commenting on the accident, the MP for Pru West, Hon. Emmanuel Ntekuni, described the accident as unfortunate.

Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsen on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, he stated that the majority of those who died were young people.

He extended his condolences to the affected victims and their families.

He expressed concern over the poor condition of the road in the area and underscored the need for authorities to repair it.

He also advised drivers and road users to take note of the bad condition of the road and value lives as they ply the road.
