The Northern Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects for alleged weapon smuggling in Savelugu, in the Northern Region.
A statement issued by the Command disclosed that the suspects were arrested through an intelligence-led operation.
The suspects have been identified as Gaba Abdallah Alhassan, Alhassan Abdallah, and Alhassan Abdul Kudus.
They were arrested on May 1, 2025, from their respective hideouts, the police statement said.
According to the police, they retrieved from the suspects one (1) AK-47 rifle, one (1) SMG, one (1) Smith & Wesson SD40 VE pistol, one (1) single-barrel gun, two (2) magazines, fifteen (15) rounds of AK-47 ammunition, thirteen (13) rounds of pistol ammunition, an additional twenty-seven (27) rounds of ammunition, and five (5) rounds of BB cartridges.

The Northern Regional Police Command, through an intelligence-led operation, has arrested three suspects for alleged weapon smuggling in Savelugu, in the Northern Region.
The suspects, identified as Gaba Abdallah Alhassan, Alhassan Abdallah, and Alhassan Abdul Kudus, were arrested on 1st May 2025 from their respective hideouts.

Police retrieved from them one (1) AK-47 rifle, one (1) SMG, one (1) Smith & Wesson SD40 VE pistol, one (1) single-barrel gun, two (2) magazines, fifteen (15) rounds of AK-47 ammunition, thirteen (13) rounds of pistol ammunition, an additional twenty-seven (27) rounds of ammunition, and five (5) rounds of BB cartridges.
The suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
They will be taken through the due process of the law to face justice.
