The Director of the Strategy, Research and Communication Division at the Office of the Special Prosecutor, Samuel Appiah Darko, has reiterated that former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has yet to submit certified medical records from any hospital to substantiate his claims of being medically incapacitated and unable to travel.
In a Facebook post, Mr Darko noted that despite numerous opportunities to appear before the Office of the Special Prosecutor, Ofori-Atta has failed to do so, citing forthcoming surgery as justification.
He emphasised that although a medical record was circulated online by Ofori-Atta’s medical coordinator, the former Minister has still not provided concrete evidence to support his assertions.
He also revealed that between March and May 31, 2025, the former Minister traveled internationally to the UK and USA, yet has declined to cooperate with the Office of the Special Prosecutor for questioning.
He quizzed “Furthermore, has Mr. Ofori-Atta not travelled in and out of the UK and USA between March and 31 May 2025? If he is able to fly internationally, what prevented him from appearing before law enforcement?”

You may choose to distort facts or shift the goalposts, but the truth remains: as of today, Mr. Ofori-Atta has not produced any certified medical report or flight risk assessment from his personal/attending physician or hospital indicating that he is incapacitated or unable to travel.
He was given the opportunity to appear before law enforcement between February and 2 June 2025 but failed or refused to do so. Notably, he did not undergo any surgery on 21 or 22 March 2025, despite a statement from his medical coordinator—widely circulated online—suggesting otherwise.
