A fatal accident occurred at Natwibuw on the Winneba-Apam highway in the Central Region, resulting in the deaths of three students and a taxi driver.
The students, from Uncle Rich and St Paul basic schools, were returning home from school around 4 pm on Monday when another vehicle collided with their taxi.
According to reports, the driver of a Toyota Rav 4, registered GN 5507-18, collided head-on with the taxi cab, registered CR 748-20, after attempting a wrongful overtaking manoeuvre.
The crash resulted in the instantaneous death of the driver, while emergency responders struggled to extricate his body.
One of the students died at the scene, while the two others died while receiving treatment at the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba, bringing the total death toll to four.
Meanwhile, two other students who survived are currently undergoing treatment.
