Deputy Education Minister Dr Clement Abas Apaak has praised the government’s new ‘No Fees Stress’ initiative, which has disbursed financial aid to 19,703 students, prioritising the most vulnerable.
The policy, launched on July 4, 2025, aims to eliminate financial barriers in tertiary education.
Dr Apaak, in a social media post, expressed optimism about the initiative’s impact, declaring that, “Trust John Dramani Mahama to deliver on his promises. No Fees Stress Policy is active!”
The Builsa South Member of Parliament assured the Ghanaian public that the revamped Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) is working tirelessly to ensure timely disbursement of funds, enabling students to pursue higher education without financial strain.
The ‘No Fees Stress’ initiative, a flagship programme under the Mahama administration, seeks to address longstanding challenges faced by students struggling with tuition fees, accommodation, and other academic expenses.
Dr Apaak described the policy as a critical investment in the nation’s future.
He also admonished Ghanaians, particularly students, to rally behind the initiative.
“Education should never be a privilege for the few. President Mahama is delivering on his pledge to make tertiary education accessible to all, and we must all support this vision,” he stated.
