The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has suspended its 2024 parliamentary candidate for Agona West, Christopher Arthur.
He was suspended for breaching a directive issued by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, which prohibits internal campaign activities for party positions.
In a letter jointly signed by the constituency secretary, Anthony Kwame Kum, and chairman, Alhaji Gibrine Tanko, the party accused its 2024 parliamentary candidate of convening an electoral area meeting on Sunday, July 6, 2025.
According to the NPP, the meeting was a clear violation of party regulations and an act of administrative indiscipline.
“Your action not only disregards the authority of the General Secretary but also undermines internal unity and the strategic work being done to strengthen the party ahead of the next general election,” the letter stated.
