Majority Chief Whip, Rockson Nelson Etse Dafeamekpor has taken a swipe at the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) over what he described as the exclusion of President John Dramani Mahama from its upcoming conference.
He stated that the GBA consistently invited President Akufo-Addo as their guest speaker at every conference they held and is therefore wondering why they would exclude the current president from their upcoming conference.
The lawmaker stated that this act only confirms the GBA’s bias against President John Dramani Mahama and the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“The bias against JDM and the NDC government is too obvious to be ignored now. You can continue to act as a wing of the main opposition party to do its bidding; we are ready for you.”
He further slammed the GBA for inviting the President of the Bar Council of England & Wales, one of the two groups that recently criticized the government over the suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Esaaba Torkornoo.
In a series of tweets the MP indicated that “What’s curious is that the GBA leadership has rather decided to invite the President of the Bar Council of England & Wales—a group that recently attacked this government without any provocation.”
