A 20-year-old man, Nana Yaw, who allegedly stabbed his 17-year-old brother, Paa Kwesi, to death in Mampong, near Sekondi-Takoradi, following a dispute over a broken padlock, has been apprehended.
The incident occurred on Saturday, August 16, 2025, after Paa Kwesi broke into his brother’s locked room in search of his phone.
A heated argument ensued when Nana Yaw discovered the broken padlock, culminating in a fatal stabbing.
Nana Yaw fled the scene but has since been arrested and is in custody, assisting the police with their ongoing investigation.
According to Ebenezer Manso-Cudjoe, ASP Adu Acheampong confirmed the suspect’s arrest, stating that Nana Yaw will be arraigned in court to face prosecution.
The reporter added that the suspect claimed his late brother’s ghost was haunting him, and so he could not run again.
He was found at Kojokrom, his hideout where he was arrested.
