The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced a 50% reduction in admission fees for nursing and allied health training students, effective for the 2025/2026 academic year.
A statement issued by the Minsitry explained that the move is part of the government’s new “No-Fee-Stress” Policy, aimed at easing the financial burden on tertiary students and their families.
In a press release signed by Deputy Director and Spokesperson Tony Goodman, the Ministry said the reduction applies to all first-year students enrolled in public Nursing and Allied Health Training Institutions.
It will cover about half of the total approved fees.
The initiative fulfills a key promise by President John Dramani Mahama to provide financial relief and promote greater access to health training education.
The MoH issued a strict directive to all institutions, mandating their full compliance with the new approved fee schedule.
The Ministry has warned that any principal who charges more than the specified amount or demands payment for items covered by the policy will face severe consequences.

- The Ministry of Health wishes to inform the general public and all stakeholders that, effective the 2025/2026 academic year, school fees for Nursing and Allied Health Training students have been reduced by 50%.
- This intervention has been made possible through the introduction of Government’s flagship “No-Fee-Stress” Policy for tertiary students across the country.
- By this initiative, Government has absorbed about half of the approved fees for all first-year students enrolled in Nursing and Allied Health Training Institutions.
- All institutions are strictly required to adhere to the approved fees and items as communicated by the Ministry.
- No institution is permitted to charge above the approved amount or demand payment for items covered under the policy.
- This reduction fulfills the commitment of His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, to provide financial relief for parents and students who are determined to pursue their academic and professional dreams.
