Nana Abor Atta II, the Founder and Life Patron of Gomoa Fetteh-based Fettehman United Football Club, has opened up about the demanding yet rewarding journey of managing a football team.
In an interview with Kwabena Gyasi (Fantastic KG) on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the traditional leader admitted that while the path is fraught with challenges, it remains deeply fulfilling.
Nana Abor Atta II revealed that he currently manages the club’s operations entirely on his own, funding the needs of a 40-man senior squad and a 35-member Team B.
The Patron highlighted the significant financial commitment required to maintain the 75 players under his care. Each season, he personally ensures the teams are equipped with high-quality gear.
“There is currently no financial support from anyone. I am single-handedly managing the team with my own resources,” he lamented. “Every season, I buy boots and jerseys for all 75 players. We even import our gear from China to ensure the quality is up to standard.”
Despite the pressure, his primary motivation remains his commitment to the community. He founded Fettehman United to unearth local talent, noting that the Gomoa Fetteh area is home to many gifted footballers who simply need a platform and support to succeed.
However, to take the club to the next level, he is looking for partners. He expressed a strong interest in welcoming investors who share his vision for the team and are ready to support its growth.
