According to the Lower Paxton Township Police Department, officers responded to a distress call at a residence on Mayfair Drive in Harrisburg at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Upon arrival, police discovered a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Emergency first responders provided immediate medical attention at the scene before transporting the victim to a local hospital. In an official statement regarding her condition, the police noted, “The woman was taken to the hospital by first responders and is currently in stable condition. This was an isolated domestic incident, and there was never any threat to the public.”

Mr Nortey is currently facing several serious criminal charges in the United States, including criminal attempt – homicide, possessing an instrument of crime (with intent to use) and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

He was subsequently arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David Judy. Citing the gravity of the attempted homicide charge and the specific circumstances of the arrest, Judge Judy denied bail, ensuring Mr Nortey remains in custody.

The case is moving toward a preliminary hearing scheduled for January 26, 2026. During this proceeding, a judge will evaluate whether the prosecution has presented sufficient evidence to move the case forward to the Court of Common Pleas.
