Former Techiman City owner Charles Kwadwo Ntim has called on the President of the Ghana Football Association to render an unqualified apology to Ghanaians over his recent comments regarding the Black Stars budget.

Speaking in an interview, Micky Charles stressed that the GFA President’s statement that he does not understand the need to make the Black Stars budget public is unfortunate and disappointing.

The Techiman City ex-bankroller stressed that public funds are often used to support the activities of the Black Stars. Hence, Ghanaians deserve to know how much is budgeted and how the money is spent.

He argued that the national team belongs to the people of Ghana, and as such, transparency and accountability must not be compromised.

“GFA President Kurt Simeone Okraku must retract his comments and apologise to Ghanaians. We all understand that GFA is a private entity, but the national team, Black Stars, is for the state, and state funds are used to cater to the Black Stars. There is nothing wrong with Ghanaians asking for accountability; I think it’s unfortunate, and I must apologise to Ghanaians.”
