Mr Fredrick Cudjoe, a meteorologist at the Central Analysis and Forecast Office of the Ghana Meteorological Agency, has shared insights into a developing rainstorm pattern affecting parts of the country.

From the information coming in yesterday, a huge air blow was moving from Benin and Togo and passed through Ghana, bringing along a strong rainstorm across several parts of the country.

He stated that the rainstorm was seen moving from the Bono East Region, Bono, Ahafo, Ashanti, Central and Western Regions through to Greater Accra, with many areas already experiencing rainfall since yesterday.

The development was discussed on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, where updates on the weather situation were shared with the public.

“We received information this morning that those in coastal areas have already started experiencing the rains, particularly in parts of the Volta and Central Regions. From today going forward, the weather is expected to alternate between sunshine and cloudy conditions, creating a mix of both hot and cool periods.”

He adddd that baddedy God’s will, tomorrow morning is expected to be partly cloudy with intervals of sunshine, according to the information available.

It has already started raining, and this suggests that the rainy season has begun, although sometimes it starts as early as late March,” he said.

“For those staying in coastal areas, the rains appear to have started from those zones, and we are waiting to see whether this year’s rainfall will be normal enough to provide adequate water, even though the season may still be hot in southern Ghana.

Looking ahead, the advice given is that when storms become heavy, people living around weak infrastructure should ensure their safety to avoid any danger.

Residents are also being urged to avoid walking or driving through floodwaters, as it can lead to serious problems.

Those in flood-prone areas are encouraged to clean their gutters and remove all rubbish to allow free flow of water whenever it rains.
