In a move aimed at ensuring fairness in the ongoing 2025/2026 military recruitment exercise, the Deputy Minister for Defence, Brogya Genfi, has announced a window of opportunity for applicants who were previously sidelined due to medical reasons.
The ministry has directed all potential recruits who did not pass the initial medical assessment to visit the specific medical centres where they were examined to obtain detailed feedback on their results.
According to the Ministry, individuals whose medical issues are deemed “curable” are encouraged to seek immediate treatment.
The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) plans to re-invite these specific candidates for a follow-up assessment once they have addressed their health concerns.
“All those who had curable medical issues at that stage are encouraged to seek medical attention, as they would be invited again for a review,” the statement noted.
Addressing concerns regarding the cost of the recruitment process, the deputy minister, through a Facebook post, noted that the upcoming medical reviews will be conducted entirely free of charge.
The ministry urges all affected persons to act promptly by returning to their assessment centres to verify the specific grounds for their medical disqualification.
