A road accident occurred earlier today involving a Hyundai commercial vehicle, commonly known as a trotro, directly opposite the Total filling station in Akosombo.
The vehicle, bearing registration number GT 5904-10, was reportedly travelling through the area when the incident took place.
Emergency response was swift, with personnel from the Akosombo District Police Command and the Akosombo Fire Service arriving promptly at the scene.
Their immediate efforts focused on rescuing trapped passengers and managing the resulting traffic congestion to prevent further disruptions on the busy stretch of road.
