The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has issued three cheques amounting to GH¢199,471,691 to clear outstanding debts for perishable food supplies.
The release addresses arrears owed to suppliers under the Free Senior High School (FSHS) programme for the period between October and February.
It also includes payments for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions covering October to December.
According to GETFund, this underscores the government’s dedication to fulfilling its obligations to service providers who facilitate the feeding and logistics essential for FSHS and TVET institutions across the country.
By settling these claims, GETFund aims to alleviate the operational strain on suppliers and guarantee the continuous delivery of perishable goods to students.
Meanwhile, the fund has expressed his commitment to ensuring prompt future payments and fostering sustained partnerships with stakeholders to enhance the delivery of educational services nationwide.
