May 14, 2026
GOOSIE-TANOH

Under the government’s 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme (24H+), Ghanaian citizens aged 18 to 35 can now access start-up capital ranging from GH₵5,000 to GH₵500,000.

This ambitious scheme seeks to energise the national workforce by combining substantial financial backing with mandatory internships and complimentary digital literacy courses.

The official digital portal, 24hplus.gov.gh, is currently accepting registrations from a broad spectrum of applicants, including aspiring youth, agriculturalists, financiers, and industrial producers.

Participants can engage with various high-impact ventures such as pharmaceutical research hubs, ecological farming estates, textile factories, and specialised academies for the creative arts.

To ensure the success of the younger generation, the initiative provides vocational training across all 16 regions through established technical institutes.

Beyond academic instruction, the programme guarantees practical work placements with affiliated corporate partners. Funding is further diversified through low-interest credit from the
Development Bank Ghana and capital investments from the Venture Capital Trust Fund, with a particular focus on supporting organised trade groups and cooperatives.

To facilitate this, companies adopting multi-shift work patterns will benefit from reduced corporate tax rates and preferential access to power and water supplies.

Further fiscal advantages are being introduced to lower the cost of doing business.

These include waiving duties on imported equipment and essential supplies that cannot be sourced domestically, alongside VAT exemptions for pivotal industries.

For those establishing ventures in ICT, tourism, or food processing, the government has also structured a series of tax holidays to support profitability during the critical early years of trade.

Specialised roles are currently available for those interested in managing agro-processing plants, operating freight services on Volta Lake, or joining regional hubs like the Tamale Air Cargo Hub and the Akosombo Garments Park.

These projects are designed to decentralise industrial growth and provide specialised infrastructure for emerging businesses.

Prospective applicants should visit the official website, navigate to the Contact Us section, and complete the Expression of Interest form to begin the process.

The 24H+ Secretariat expects to unveil additional phases and further professional prospects on the platform in the coming months.
