The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has launched a strategic initiative to modernize fire safety across the country, gathering registered service providers and engineering practitioners in Accra to introduce the new Automated Fire Compliance and Safety System (AFCAS).

This digital platform aims to streamline operational efficiency and enforce stricter adherence to national fire safety regulations.

The engagement brought together mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering (MEPE) professionals to establish practical protocols for the design, installation, inspection, and maintenance of fire safety systems.

Discussions centered on embedding best engineering practices into building designs and curbing the rising incidence of fire outbreaks in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities.

According to GNFS management, the rollout is part of a deliberate effort to foster a robust safety culture within the built environment.

By strengthening partnerships with private sector practitioners, the Service intends to elevate national building safety standards, tighten regulatory compliance, and mitigate structural fire risks in communities nationwide.
