The Tema Regional Police Command has dismantled two separate armed robbery syndicates responsible for breaking into commercial warehouses within the Tema enclave, arresting six suspects in the process.

The targeted operations, carried out on June 16, 2026, led to the apprehension of Akala Kudus, Shaibu Dauda, Abdul Rahman Moro, Giya Hudu, Razak Seidu, and Francis Ayinsabga.

According to a police statement, the suspects are linked to two major warehouse break-ins executed between May and June this year, targeting agricultural and food supplies.

The first incident occurred on May 25, 2026, when an armed gang attacked a security guard at a facility in Kpone, escaping with 751 bags of 50kg Organic Fertilizers valued at GHS 431,825.00.

Weeks later, on June 14, a second raid took place at Mummy’s Recipe Warehouse in Tema Community One, where robbers overpowered the security personnel and made away with approximately 2,000 bags of Aaba Rice alongside other food products.

Following the regular pattern of these criminal syndicates, the Police Command utilized intelligence-led operations and sustained investigations to track the stolen goods to various storage facilities within the industrial zone.

“During the operations, police recovered 717 bags of Aaba Rice stolen from Mummy’s Recipe Warehouse and 600 bags of fertilizers stolen from the Kpone warehouse,” stated ASP Dede Dzakpasu, Head of Public Affairs for the Tema Regional Police.

“The recovered items have since been secured as exhibits.”

While the six suspects remain in custody to assist with ongoing investigations, regional authorities are actively pursuing remaining members of the syndicates and attempting to retrieve the rest of the stolen inventory.

In light of the recent warehouse breaches, ASP Dzakpasu noted that “the public as well as businesses are urged to invest in security measures to enhance their safety and protection,” emphasizing the critical need for prompt reporting to help law enforcement prevent crime and protect property.
