Swift intervention by firefighters from the Agona Swedru Fire Station on Saturday prevented a domestic fire from completely destroying a seven-bedroom house at Achiase, a suburb of Agona Swedru.
The fire, which broke out on June 27, 2026, was successfully confined to a single room by the responding crew, effectively salvaging the remaining six rooms of the structure.

According to officials, the crew deployed immediately after receiving a distress call and managed to bring the raging flames under control within minutes of arrival.
While no casualties or injuries were recorded in the incident, personal effects and belongings housed in the affected room were entirely lost to the blaze.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire. Officials have used the incident to remind residents to maintain strict fire safety protocols in their homes to avert similar disasters.
