The Deputy Minister for Education, Dr Clement Apaak, has made a passionate appeal for increased investment in the country’s young innovators, emphasising that Ghana’s future relies heavily on the creativity of the next generation.
According to him, the nation must deliberately provide students with the critical opportunities, mentorship, and resources required to fully develop their talents.
Dr Apaak made the call during the 2026 Ghana Science and Technology Explorer Prize (GSTEP) Exhibition and Awards Ceremony, held at the University of Ghana.
Addressing attendees at the event, the Deputy Minister explained that the innovative projects exhibited by the students clearly highlight why the country must continue strengthening Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education to nurture creativity and build sustainable solutions to national challenges.
He reaffirmed the Ministry of Education’s commitment to expanding STEM education across the country, detailing ongoing plans to integrate coding, robotics, digital literacy, and artificial intelligence into daily classroom teaching and learning.
While encouraging the students to remain curious, resilient, and innovative in their academic pursuits, Dr Apaak also urged stakeholders and corporate organisations to partner with the government in investing in young people.
