I was never questioned over any GH¢55m fraud – Dennis Miracles Aboagye states after EOCO

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, an aspirant for the National Communications Director position of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has strongly refuted claims that he was interrogated by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) over a rumoured GH¢55 million financial impropriety.

The former Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Co-ordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD) made this clarification in an official statement released shortly after securing his freedom.

His release followed a 48-hour detention by the anti-corruption agency, during which he successfully met a GH¢50 million bail condition.

According to Mr Aboagye, contrary to widespread media speculation linking his apprehension to the alleged embezzlement of GH¢55 million, no such transaction or figure was ever mentioned during his session with the investigators. He categorially stated that the subject did not arise at any point during his questioning.

He described his arrest as a calculated smear campaign designed to destroy his political reputation.

He expressed firm confidence that he would be completely exonerated, asserting that neither the Ghanaian electorate nor his party colleagues would fall for fabricated narratives.

He also expressed profound gratitude to the NPP youth and party loyalists who hit the streets to protest his detention and demand his release.

Mr Aboagye lauded their actions as a courageous stance against political intimidation, noting that the entire experience has only solidified his determination to lead the party’s communications team ahead of the crucial internal polls.

Below is the full statement

I AM OUT. I AM UNBROKEN. AND I AM MORE READY THAN EVER. THANK YOU PATRIOTS!

Four days ago, just one day after I declared my intention to serve our great party as National Communications Director, I was picked up and detained by EOCO. A false narrative was put out about my arrest, but Ghanaians are not fools, and neither are the good people of the New Patriotic Party. The facts and the truth, will prevail!!

FOR THE RECORDS: THERE WAS NO Discussion OF ANY GHc55million cedis with me by EOCO. None!!!

To every party faithful who hit the streets, who raised their voices, who refused to be silent, I saw you. I heard you. From my detention, word of your protests reached me, and it kept my spirit standing tall. You did not just defend Dennis Miracles Aboagye; you defended the principle that no voice can be intimidated into silence.

Let me be clear: if the intention was to break me, it has failed. If the intention was to scare me, it has failed spectacularly. I will lead New Patriotic Party’s communications Directorate to  command the narrative, and no cell, no false story, no intimidation will change that.

Fuel, has only been added to fire ????

To my legal team, party leadership, and every single supporter who stood with me, thank you.

This journey is no longer mine alone. It is ours.

We move. Stronger. Louder. Together.

Built to Lead. Ready to Win. ????????⚪
