Ghana Medical Trust Fund donates life-saving oxygen concentrators to Tamale Teaching Hospital’s NICU
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund has donated five oxygen concentrators to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the Tamale Teaching Hospital to bolster critical healthcare delivery for newborns in the northern sector of the country.
The medical equipment, which includes four stationary units and one mobile oxygen concentrator, was generously provided by Rikair Company Limited to support the hospital’s specialized care for vulnerable infants.
The donation is expected to significantly augment the NICU’s capacity to cater to neonates requiring urgent respiratory support.
The inclusion of the mobile concentrator will play a crucial role during emergency situations and ensure the safe transfer of delicate patients between departments within the hospital.
With the demand for neonatal critical care steadily rising across the region, stakeholders believe the contribution arrives at an opportune time to strengthen the facility’s emergency readiness and prevent avoidable infant deaths.
In a statement releasing details of the presentation, the Ghana Medical Trust Fund expressed its deep gratitude to Rikair Company Limited for partnering with them to enhance medical interventions where time is of the essence.
