Upon arrival, emergency responders met a chaotic scene, finding one passenger trapped inside the wreckage of the minibus, which bore registration number AS 6145-24. Fire officers successfully extricated the victim, but the individual was later confirmed dead alongside another passenger.

According to account from an eyewitness, the accident occurred when an unidentified vehicle travelling from Takoradi towards Cape Coast made a reckless attempt to overtake another vehicle. In a desperate bid to avoid a head-on collision with the oncoming vehicle, the driver of the Takoradi-bound minibus swerved sharply, crashing directly into a stationary, broken-down truck registered GN 2491-14.

Personnel from the National Ambulance Service rushed the eight injured survivors to the Elmina Polyclinic, where they are currently receiving medical care.

Motorists navigating the Cape Coast-Takoradi highway are urged to exercise extreme caution, observe road regulations, and demonstrate patience when overtaking to prevent further loss of lives on the stretch.
