Immigration Officer Killed, Policeman Injured in Assin Fosu Motorbike Crash

An officer with the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has died following a severe motorbike accident at Assin Fosu in the Central Region.

The deceased, identified as Amoakoh and popularly known as “Ahuoden,” was riding as a pillion passenger when the incident occurred.

The main rider, a police officer attached to the Central North Regional Police Command, sustained serious injuries and remains in critical condition.

Reports indicate that the pair were travelling along the stretch from Finest Pub towards the main Assin Fosu Lorry Station when the rider lost control, causing the motorbike to veer off the road and crash.

According to a report filed by Brother Shadrack on Nyankonton Mu Nsem (Rainbow Radio 87.5FM), it took a while before the officers were discovered at the accident scene.

​Good Samaritans who later spotted the men rushed over to assist and conveyed both victims to a nearby health facility.

Medical personnel pronounced Amoakoh dead on arrival.

The police officer, who suffered fractures to his left arm and left leg, was admitted for emergency care and continues to receive treatment.
