A mother of four at Gomoa Dominase in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region is appealing to the Judicial Service and child rights advocates for swift intervention following the alleged sexual abuse of her four biological daughters by her husband.
The suspect, 44-year-old Emmanuel Ekumfi, is currently standing trial before court after being accused of repeatedly defiling and sodomising the minors.
Narrating the ordeal, the distressed mother, Antoinette Boakye, revealed that a marital dispute had previously forced her to temporarily relocate to her family home, leaving the children in the care of her husband. Upon her return, she noticed an unusual physical discharge from her 12-year-old eldest daughter.
Sustained questioning by the mother prompted the minor to confess that her father had been sexually abusing her and subjecting her to sodomy.
The victim further disclosed that her three younger siblings, aged six, eight, and a toddler, were also subjected to similar abuse under strict threats of death if they exposed the acts.
The matter was formally lodged at the Kasoa Millennium City Police Station, culminating in the immediate arrest and prosecution of the suspect.
Expressing deep frustration over the pace of proceedings, Madam Boakye stated that prolonged delays in the trial are compounding the psychological trauma of the victims.
She is calling on the relevant authorities, human rights organisations, and the public to ensure the case is handled expeditiously to secure justice and provide adequate protection and care for the affected children.
