The Police Administration has interdicted a senior officer, DSP Alhassan Malaika Jibril, following his alleged involvement in a demolition exercise at the Accra Race Course in Borteyman.
According to an official press release signed by the Director-General of Public Affairs, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, the action was taken to allow for an unhindered probe into the events of Saturday, 22nd August 2026.
“The Police Administration has interdicted DSP/Mr. Alhassan Malaika Jibril for his involvement in a demolition exercise at the Accra Race Course at Borteyman on Saturday, 22nd August 2026,” the statement disclosed.
The service further clarified the reason behind the immediate interdiction, stating, “The interdiction is to facilitate investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
Specialised units within the service have already been tasked with unravelling the details of the illegal operation, with firm assurances that any wrongdoing will be met with strict legal sanctions.
“The Criminal Investigations Department (C.I.D.) and the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) are investigating the matter, and anyone found culpable will be taken through the due process of the law,” DCOP Grace Ansah-Akrofi added.
Investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
