Akim Oda Member of Parliament Alexander Akwasi Acquah is deeply devastated following the sudden death of his personal assistant, Kofi Nti. Reminiscing on their bond, the lawmaker described the deceased not merely as a loyal assistant, but as a man of utmost integrity, credibility, and passion.
The tragedy occurred on Saturday when Kofi Nti was involved in a fatal head-on collision on the Akyem Oda–Nkwanta road. He was traveling in a Nissan Navara pickup (registration number GT 2639-24) alongside three others en route to Oda Nkwanta to help resolve disputes surrounding the ongoing New Patriotic Party polling station elections. Kofi Nti died instantly at the scene, while the three other occupants suffered severe injuries and remain hospitalized.
Reflecting on the loss during an appearance on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM’s Frontline, the MP expressed his profound grief and shock to host Kwabena Agyapong:
“I cherished this young man so well because he was an exceptional and brilliant man. He was a gem and competent. He served with integrity, decency, credibility, and passion. He was a brother, my IT specialist, and everything. If you’re looking for something that has devastated me politically, it is this one. He was a multi-talented man, and due to his demise, five people are now doing the things he used to do for me.”
Overwhelmed by the void left behind, the lawmaker added:
“Let me repeat that I have lost a loyal person, and I cannot forget about it. I don’t usually remember dates and events, but his demise has left a memorable moment in my mind. He was humble, had good character, and I pray God will grant him peace and rest in His bosom.”
