Police officers at the Awutu Bereku District Command have arrested two individuals in connection with the brutal murder of a commercial motorcycle operator at Awutu Kwei, near Awutu Bosom-Abena in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.
The victim, believed to be in his late 30s, was allegedly attacked and killed by the suspects, who subsequently set his body and motor vehicle on fire.
According to police sources, the two suspects were picked up following intelligence gathered around the scene of the incident.
The motive behind the gruesome killing remains unclear, as investigators are yet to establish whether there was a prior dispute between the deceased and the suspects before the attack unfolded.
Officers from the Awutu Bereku District Police Command have since retrieved the charred remains and conveyed them to the Police Hospital Mortuary in Accra for preservation and autopsy.
Meanwhile, police have launched a full-scale investigation into the matter to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and determine whether additional accomplices were involved.
