She shared the occasion with several distinguished personalities, including Awulae Annor Adjaye III, Paramount Chief of the Western Nzema Traditional Area, and the President of the Ivorian House of Chiefs, as well as the Member of Parliament for the Tiapoum area.

The Kundum Festival remains an important cultural celebration among the Nzema people, providing an avenue for cultural expression, community reunion, and the preservation of their rich traditional heritage.

The colourful celebration brought together members of the Nzema community in Côte d’Ivoire, including Ghanaians living in the neighbouring country, to celebrate their rich cultural heritage, traditions, and shared identity.

The event also provided an opportunity for members of the community to reconnect with their ancestral roots and strengthen the bonds that unite Nzemas across geographical boundaries.

Madam Affo-Toffey expressed her delight at being part of the celebration, describing it as a significant occasion that demonstrated the enduring strength of Nzema identity and cultural values.

According to the Jomoro MP, cultural celebrations such as the Kundum Festival serve as important platforms for preserving ancestral traditions, promoting unity, and passing cultural values on to younger generations.

She further noted that Nzema heritage transcends geographical boundaries, stressing that members of the ethnic group remain connected through their common history, values, and traditions, irrespective of where they live.

Madam Affo-Toffey also highlighted the significance of the celebration in strengthening the longstanding cultural and social relationship between Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire.

She called for the continued promotion and preservation of the Nzema heritage, while expressing optimism that the enduring relationship between the two neighbouring countries would continue to grow.
