The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has disqualified Philip Appiah Kubi, the Ghana Freedom Party’s (GFP) replacement presidential candidate, citing errors and illegalities on his nomination forms.
The Chairperson of the EC, Jean Mensa, at a press conference held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
She revealed that the party was allowed to make corrections but certain irregularities could not be overlooked, leading to the EC’s decision to disqualify Kubi from contesting in the presidential election.
The party replaced the late Madam Akua Donkor with Philip Appiah Kubi, also known as Roman Fada.
Madam Donkor died on October 15, 2024. The EC granted the GFP a 10-day window to submit a new candidate, and the party presented Roman Fada, who has since been disqualified over irregularities.
