Dr. Edward Omane Boamah’s nomination as Minister-Designate for Defence has been approved by Parliament.
The plenary debated the Appointments Committee’s ninth report.
This week, the nominee, who previously served as the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) Director of Elections, was successfully vetted.
The Minority Leader of the House, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who submitted the report, chastised the Clerk of Parliament for her conduct and accused her of omitting the nominee’s key submissions from the report.
The Speaker, Alban Bagbin, condemned the attack on the committee clerk and urged that such concerns be addressed through appropriate channels.
