The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to take disciplinary action against its Bono Regional Chairman Keane Baffoe, aka Abronye.
He has been cited for anti-party behaviour, following which the party has referred him to the National Disciplinary Committee.
The party has accused him of breaching directives of the National Council, cautioning him to refrain from making unguarded public comments.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong.
The decision to refer him to the Disciplinary Committee was taken at a National Steering Committee of the party held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
The disciplinary action was part of several other resolutions reached at the meeting.
The statement said the NPP “refers the Bono Regional Chairman, Mr Kwame Baffoe, alias Abronye, to the Party’s National Disciplinary Committee for breaching directives of the National Council, cautioning him to refrain from making unguarded public comments.”
The party has also scheduled to invite all personalities who have so publicly declared their intentions to contest in the presidential primary slated for January 31, 2026.
“The meeting, which is expected to discuss matters of mutual interest, is scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 3, 2025,” the statement said.
The party further asked party members to cease all causes or associations of present or finer party executives from holding meetings with aspiring presidential candidates.
“Directs the immediate cessation of all caucuses or associations of present and former party executives/government appointees holding meetings with presidential aspirants in breach of party regulations.
The Party wishes to once again remind members of their constitutional obligation to protect party unity, to abide by and publicly support the Party’s decisions, and to refrain from engaging in acts that threaten party cohesion.”
