Authorities at the UCC District Police Command have launched an investigation following the discovery of an unidentified woman’s body at Hutchland Beach early on June 12, 2026.
An emergency response team deployed to the scene immediately after receiving the report at approximately 3:15 a.m.
Initial assessments indicate the deceased is a woman estimated to be between 25 and 30 years old. She was discovered lying face down, and while blood was noted coming from her nose, officers found no visible signs of violence or physical assault upon close inspection.
This initial finding counters early rumors regarding potential foul play.
Investigators documented the scene with photographs before transferring the body to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital morgue.
The deceased will remain there for preservation and identification while a post-mortem examination is conducted to determine the definitive cause of death.
To assist with the identity of the woman, local chief fishermen have been instructed to spread the word throughout neighboring coastal communities.
Police operations remain active as detectives await the autopsy results, which will clarify whether the tragedy stemmed from drowning, health issues, or other factors.
