”For the past 20 years that I have been in the industry, the testimonies that people have shared with me about God having blessed them and transformed them through my sons is the greatest award I cherish as a gospel musician,” Obaapa Christy has revealed.
Obaapa Christy says she is always thrilled when people tell her that her songs have helped them grow closer to God and make progress; “this is the award I treasure the most.”
She told Sokoohemaa Kukua on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that what is more cherishing for a 75-year-old woman to tell you that she is excited about what you do and that your songs bring her relief. That is something I love to hear. What is more loving for someone to tell you he or she considered suicide but stopped after listening to your songs?”
She was responding to the memorable moments she had captured during her 20-year career as a gospel musician.
Since beginning her career as a gospel musician, the musician has had a lot to be thankful for.
“I have a lot to be grateful for. I have every reason to thank God for his goodness and love for me. I’ve worked my way up from humble beginnings to where I am today.”
The celebrated musician will hold a concert titled “Obaapa Christy at 20 Concert” to commemorate her 20 years in the local music industry.
The concert, organized by her management team, will bring together Christians, gospel music lovers, friends, and gospel musicians on one platform to celebrate her success in the music industry.
The award-winning gospel musician said she wanted to use the concert to demonstrate her gratitude to God for his blessings in her career.
