Wild Priest, a new dancehall artiste born Isaac Nana Twum, has released his first single.
FanChoco mixed and produced the track, titled ‘Murder Them.’
The song he described is about winning without limits.
The song’s inspiration, he says, is to encourage people to work harder in whatever they do because success is guaranteed.
The young artiste stated that music has been with him since he was in primary school and that he grew up in a family of musicians.
“I’ve had it since I was in primary school. I grew up in a family of musicians and eventually fell in love with music.”
According to him, when he was young, he discovered a pen drive on the ground that was full of music from Alkaline, a Jamaican dancehall artiste, and the pen drive contained his music videos and most of his songs. I was about 11 or 12 at the time, so I inserted the pen drive and began listening to the songs all the time, gradually falling in love with music.
He believes that music is the only thing that brings him joy, which is why he chose music over everything else.
Wild Priest stated that he wishes to be remembered as one of the greatest dancehall musicians of all time. I aspire to be a legend like Vybz Kartel, Bob Marley, or Buju Banton.
He bemoaned the difficulty of finding people to invest in young artists like himself.
“It can be difficult as a young artiste with no one to help him grow in the music industry.” Going to the studio isn’t free, and sometimes you have to give up important things for music. I had a lot of songs in the studio, but because I couldn’t afford to pay for them, they were deleted over time. It is extremely difficult to be an artist when you have no support from anywhere.”
He went on to say that music is neither his hobby nor his business. Music is my life, it is what I do every day. Music is my life because I sleep with it, wake up with it, and do everything with it.
