Political analyst Mr. Boakye Yiadom has opined that the majority of Ghanaian politicians are dishonest, greedy, selfish and only interested in amassing wealth for themselves.
Speaking on NyankontonMu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he posited that our politicians have in Ghana are in office to amass wealth for themselves, their cronies and family.
He indicated that politicians lack honesty, integrity, and accountability and do not mostly do not have any positive policies that could alleviate the poverty of the people.
According to the analyst and lecturer, Ghanaians are facing extreme economic hardship, with commodity prices rising on a daily basis.
He stated that there is no counter-argument to the fact that Ghanaians are in crisis and that the government is responsible for addressing them.
“I would appeal to our leaders to implement measures to alleviate Ghanaians’ economic hardship. People are suffering, and the price increases in goods are concerning. You buy something today and return the next day to find that the price has risen.”
He stated that our leaders are not interested in maintaining a stable economy, building good roads, or providing better opportunities for the people. They are only concerned with amassing wealth and transferring it to offshore accounts. They are only concerned with themselves.”
He was responding to the heckling of President Akufo-Addo while he was addressing a gathering at the Global Citizen over the weekend.
He went on to say that politicians should learn to be loyal to the people who elected them and stop being corrupt.
“The vast majority of politicians are dishonest, greedy, and self-centred. Only a few are truthful and dedicated to the people. Only a few people in Ghana are loyal and patriotic. When they are in office, they are only interested in building houses and purchasing expensive real estate. They are not prepared to maintain a stable economy, build food roads, or even provide quality education,” he emphasized.
