Member of Parliament for Builsa South and Deputy Ranking on the Education Committee Dr. Clement Apaak, has said his long-held view for investigations to be conducted into allegations of corruption in the placement of students under the CSSPS is needed more than ever.

The lawmaker’s call comes after the trailer for an expose on the alleged corrupt dealings at the CSSPS was released by the Fourth Estate.

The yet-to-be-released documentary investigates school placement fraud.

Dr. Apaak reacting to the promo video, stated that his long-held call for such a probe has been justified.

”I’ve long called for an investigation into allegations of corruption in the CSSPS placement of students. Some pay bribes to get their wards into grade A&B schools. Thanks to the Fourth Estate, we now have confirmation and a basis for action! Watch out for the full documentary.”

Dr. Apaak requested that the security agencies investigate alleged cases of corruption at the CSSPS in 2022.

This came after the former Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, petitioned the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service to conduct investigations into allegations of corruption in student placement under the CSSPS.

He insisted that the investigations would restore the ministry’s and its agencies’ reputations and reassure the public that the CSSPS was still credible.

He reiterated that many people lack trust in the system, and it is critical that the ministry be seen to be concerned about all allegations levelled against ministry and agency personnel.

He claimed that many people had similar stories but chose not to share them for obvious reasons, and that the development was very unfortunate and needed to be addressed immediately.
