Mr. Ampem Darko Nicholas, the Unit Committee Chairman of Abesewa, a community in the Ahafo Ano South East district of the Ashanti region, has bemoaned the rate at which some unscrupulous individuals continue to defecate in the classrooms of Abesewa D/A primary School, compelling class 1 & 2 pupils to stay home over the act.
There is currently an order for the closure of classes 1 and 2 students until the case is resolved since it is dangerous to their health.
Mr. Ampem Darko Nicholas, Chairman of the Unit Committee, stated in an interview that the case was reported to the Education Director following which the classrooms were closed.
Mr. Darko stated that his members and the Assemblyman are doing everything possible to address the terrible occurrence and allow the students to return to school.
He also announced that they would host a stakeholder meeting with Nananom to determine what might be done to improve the uncultured act.
He appealed to everyone to avoid such an attitude because it has long-term consequences for you and your children and continues to tarnish the image of the community in which it occurs.
He found that it also has an impact on teaching and learning, which hurts school-age children.
