Sir Sam Jonah, a Ghanaian business magnate, has strongly denied rumours that he is in the hunt to be former President John Mahama’s running mate in the 2024 elections.
According to him, he has no interest in the position, hence Ghanaians should disregard such reports.
He wrote to Metro TV’s ‘Good Evening Ghana’ after hearing host Paul Adom Otchere discuss a story on the broadcast.
“Anyone who knows me well will attest to the fact that I have no interest whatsoever in going into the murky world of politics.”
The businessman indicated that he had turned down offers to be Vice President under former President Jerry John Rawlings in the 90s.
“As a matter of fact, if I was interested, I would have been Vice President in 1992 and 1996 when I was offered the position on a silver platter,” he said.
He also described these publications as “worthless speculation.”
