A man in his late 30s is said to have committed suicide by hanging in Sunyani Kwatre near Odumasi in Sunyani West of the Bono region.
According to reports, the deceased claimed that some unidentified individuals were attempting to take his life through his dreams, making his stay in the area and his room uncomfortable.
The deceased’s lifeless body was discovered hanging in his room.
Mr. Ben, who reported the incident from the scene, explained that they gathered information about the incident on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.
He stated that on Monday around 9 p.m., the deceased, Nana Korang George aka Abodam, rushed to his family home, claiming that he was being pursued by people who wanted to kill him.
The family is said to have asked Abodam to go to sleep because they suspected it was one of the gimmicks he usually engages in after excessive drinking.
After entering his room, he rushed out again, claiming that the people he mentioned were after him.
His auntie, who was nearby at the time, took him to his room and asked him to sleep.
He was discovered dead by hanging in his room. The police were notified later, and the body was removed from the scene and transported to the mortuary.
His door had to be broken open because he had looked at it from the inside when the family attempted to call him the next day, but he did not respond.
The reporter disclosed that Abodam was not an alcoholic but took to drinking after a motor accident.
He was also a divorcee and left behind a 15-year-old daughter.
