Ranking Member on the Education Committee of Parliament Dr. Clement Apaak has once again taken a swipe at Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over his response to claims made by former President John Drmani Mahama that students were assisted to cheat in the WASSCE.
Former President John Dramani Mahama has been attacked by communicators of the government following his claims that the results released for the 2023 WASSCE were not genuine since several students were allowed to cheat.
The Vice President himself asked the students not to allow the former president to discredit their achievements.
Reacting to these attacks, Dr. Apaak found pieces of evidence that proved what the former president said.
He said the West African Examination Council, CSOs, and other bodies have raised concerns over examination malpractices and their negative impact.
With a screenshot of some stories to buttress his argument, he said Mr. Mahama has been vindicated for speaking the truth.
Read the brief statement below
Happy New Year. The truth has exposed DMB and his losing team as deliberately misrepresenting JM for partisan political gains. The evidence has rendered the mischievous plan by DMB to cast JM in a bad light impotent.
What DMB and his team forgot was that WAEC itself, the examining body, Africa Education Watch, the most reputable and well-respected education sector CSO in Ghana, and examination monitoring groups, including the Kwame Alorvi team, documented and made public statements on the worrying escalation in examination malpractices in recent times.
I share here with you snapshots of stories related to the subject matter. Let’s choose truth over lies, for the truth shall set us free.
Dr. Clement Abas Apaak
