A campaign team member of Movement for Change, Solomon Owusu, has described President Akufo-Addo as a failure and a disgrace to the presidency.
He suggested that the president, who was touted as the best for the presidency, had turned out to be Ghana’s worst nightmare.
He noted that the president and his NPP, despite promising Ghanaians to deliver leadership that will transform their lives, have worsened the living conditions of the people.
He went on to slam the NPP for deceiving the public for votes and now living large at the expense of the people.
“When you were coming into office, you were singing ‘Ewurade Kasa’, but today, you are singing ‘Nana Nana Oye Winner’.
Solomon Owusu advised the NPP to start preparing its handover notes since they will be kicked out of office on December 7, 2024.
He further urged the NPP to focus on initiating measures to address the economic crisis confronting the people.
He took on the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as a candidate who lacks the credibility and integrity to be considered our next president.
He said the candidate for the NPP cannot be trusted to manage the country because of his role in the mess created by the NPP.
He was reacting to calls made by the NPP on Alan Kyerematen to render an apology for asking Christians to vote for him since it was important to have someone like that as president.
The former Trade and Industry Minister emphasised the importance of having a leader who shares the religious faith of the majority of the people. Addressing a congregation during Easter celebrations, Mr. Kyerematen said, “So as a predominately Christian nation and as Christians, it is our responsibility to ensure we elect a Christian leader who is also a Christlike leader.”
He has widely been condemned and asked to apologize. However, Solomon Owusu, a campaign team member of the Movement for Change, says his boss will not retract or apologise. He told Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM that Alan Cash, as he is affectionately called, stated facts and not fiction.
He explained that there is no contrary fact to the truth that Ghana is denominated by Christians. He also referenced the recent census to support his argument. “Contrary to assertions that Alan was engaging in unhealthy religious politics, he was only admonishing Christians to see him as their own and vote massively for him. When you listen to the tape, what exactly did Alan say that was false? Is it true that Christians have dominated the country?
The answer is an emphatic yes. It is a fact, and so Alan did not peddle falsehoods. He even went ahead to admonish them to elect a Christlike person. If you are not an anti-Christ, you will rather commend Alan than ask him to apologise.”
